The growing environmental awareness of populations as well as of the management of Marinhave S.A. has resulted in the company embarking on a new activity, the production of worm humus and compost to solve the problem of the sub-products from the production of ducks, such as manure and unusable feathers, resulting in organic fertilisers of excellent quality.

“All organic material that decays to the point where there is no more microbial decomposition is known as humus”.
Generally it is found in small particles and is an extremely important part of soil, securing its unique fertility and moist retention properties.

Worm humus or vermicompost as it is also called has the same characteristics as the humus found in the soil.
